Honeygrow

Situated on a cosy corner on 17th street, honeygrow is a new restaurant that focuses on bringing fresh and local ingredients to Philadelphians citizens at a fast pace. Honeygrow offers stir frys, salads, honey fruit salads, and smoothies. Customers can choose from a menu or create their own meals with their favorite vegetables. The meals are reasonable, starting at $7.50 to $8 for a stir fry so any college student can eat healthily here. Honeygrow hopes to attract a wide demographic, and with fresh food and good prices, they will soon attract new customers.

SHILOH FINDS SHELTER

Walking past my porch on North Park Avenue in Philadelphia most people would just see a box and keep walking. Inside this box is a towel and usually a black cat who loves sleeping and eating. Affectionately named Shiloh, my roommates and I fed him and he started coming around looking for more. Shiloh is like thousands of other stray cats in the city looking for food and love. We unfortunately cannot take Shiloh in and adopt him but we decided to at least care for him on our porch and our mail room. He comes and goes as he pleases but always greets us with a meow and rubs against my legs. Shiloh is truly happy just to have a bed, shelter from the rain, and someone to pet him. The North Philadelphian community has likewise shown extreme kindness to the strays that reside on the same street. Neighbors put food out and some blankets or towels in efforts to keep these cats alive. Shiloh has never been happier, he finally feels like he belongs somewhere. Unfortunately, there’s still thousands of more cats on the streets of Philadelphia looking for homes.
